JLG Telehandler Training Burlington - In the late 1960's John L. Grove, with his wife Cora set out on a cross country voyage in their RV. Recently retired, after spending numerous years working with his brother to develop their crane company into an market leader, John had no idea that momentous trip would permit JLG Industries, Inc to emerge. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision materials handling technologies was the end consequence of a road expedition.
During their trip, John reacquainted himself with former business associates along the way. In combination with these conversations and a noteworthy event; two workers had been tragically electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were passing through the Hoover Dam. John discovered a considerable marketplace for a product that could swiftly and safely lift individuals in the air to accomplish maintenance and other construction services.
Upon returning from their travels, John established a partnership with two friends and obtained a metal fabrication company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. In 1970, opening operations with a crew of twenty personnel, they designed and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. The company incorporates some of the basic design essentials of that original lift into existing models.
JLG lift trucks have come a ways since Mr. John L. Grove came back to town from his cross-country road trip and since the initial aerial work platform debuted on the market. Today, the business proudly continues to expand itself into various markets globally and develops new products to ensure customers are capable of being more effective and perform in the workplace within a safer atmosphere.
